At Nypunya School of Excellence (NSE), we believe in combining education with engaging experiences. On 30th July 2024, we celebrated International Tiger Preservation Day with a unique and interactive Movie Day event. The initiative aimed to educate students about tiger conservation while providing them with the thrill of a movie-going experience right on the school campus.
Event Preparation
The meticulous preparation ensured the success of this immersive experience:
- Tickets were designed to simulate a real movie-going experience.
- Popcorn was procured to add to the ambiance.
- Numbered chairs and a kiosk (ticket counter) were set up.
- Paper money and a scanner were prepared to mimic real transactions.
- Appropriate props were gathered to enhance the setup.
- A carefully selected documentary about tiger conservation was chosen to captivate and educate the students.
Event Highlights
The excitement for Movie Day was palpable among the students, many of whom even brought paper money from home to add authenticity to the event.
- Students visited the AV Room in turns to enjoy the movie experience.
- While one section watched the documentary, the other took on roles such as issuing tickets and scanning attendees, enhancing their involvement and understanding of the process.
- Children lined up at the kiosk, purchased tickets, got scanned, and found their numbered seats.
- During the interval, popcorn was distributed, further immersing them in the movie-going experience.
- After the movie, students resumed their regular activities, brimming with enthusiasm and stories to share.
Observations
Teachers noticed how actively children discussed the movie, their favorite scenes, and the experience of using paper money for tickets. This demonstrated the event’s success in engaging and educating the students.
